Responded to no cooling complaint on residential HVAC system over 10 years old. Performed diagnostic inspection of cooling system components including refrigerant lines and ductwork connections. Documented existing copper refrigerant piping configuration and ventilation equipment condition for maintenance records.
Responded to service call for AC system not cooling effectively and running loudly, with UV error message displayed on thermostat. Upon arrival, found outdoor condensing unit frozen with ice buildup on copper refrigerant lines and compressor, preventing proper diagnostic evaluation. Advised customer to power down system for 24 hours to allow complete thaw of ice accumulation. Explained potential causes including restricted airflow, low refrigerant charge, or dirty evaporator coil requiring further investigation once unit has fully defrosted. Follow-up visit scheduled to complete system evaluation and determine necessary repairs.
Conducted on-site evaluation for single-room mini split system installation. Assessed exterior mounting location on residential siding with existing gravel base and concrete paver pathway, verified clearances and positioning for outdoor condenser unit with refrigerant line routing along exterior wall. Inspected electrical panel to confirm available circuit capacity and breaker configuration for new mini split system power requirements, documented panel specifications and available amperage for proper electrical installation planning.
