Responded to emergency call for leaking sink fixture that had been partially disconnected by homeowner but continued to leak, causing water damage to flooring beneath the installation. Upon arrival, assessed the plumbing assembly which included braided stainless steel flex hoses connected to shut-off valves and fixture supply lines. Observed significant water staining and damage on light wood flooring indicating active or recent leak. Completed proper disconnection and capping of the leaking fixture supply line to stop water flow. Verified all connections to water heater and associated plumbing system were secure and functioning properly, including inspection of PVC discharge lines and braided supply lines with shut-off valves. Tested system for additional leaks and confirmed leak was successfully stopped.
Installed a whole home surge protection device at the main electrical panel. Connected the surge protector to the distribution panel's bus bars and verified proper grounding. Tested all circuit breakers for proper operation and confirmed surge protector indicator lights showed active protection status. Installation complete and system operational.
Responded to callback for toilet flush lever malfunction following previous repair. Upon arrival, confirmed the toilet handle screws were loosening and the lever mechanism was sticking, preventing proper flushing and causing the water to run continuously. Evaluated multiple replacement lever options and installed a higher-quality brass flush lever assembly to resolve the sticking issue and ensure proper operation. Secured all mounting hardware and verified full functionality of the flush mechanism. Additionally, inspected sump pump system in basin and documented condition of pump float switch, discharge piping, and basin integrity for maintenance records.
