Responded to no cooling complaint on 10+ year old system. Upon arrival, confirmed thermostat set to 66°F but indoor temperature reading 89°F with outdoor fan not operating. Inspected outdoor unit and confirmed condenser fan motor failure preventing heat rejection. Verified refrigerant lines showed no freeze-up. Replaced failed condenser fan motor, restored power, and tested system operation. Unit cycling properly with condenser fan running and compressor engaging. Verified adequate airflow across condenser coil and system pulling temperature down effectively.
Completed full HVAC system upgrade from 80% to 90% efficiency equipment, installing Lennox EL297UH070XV36BK furnace, EL18KCV-024 air conditioner with CK40CT-24B-71 evaporator coil, and S40 thermostat. Addressed equipment width transition from A-width to B-width configuration by fabricating custom ductwork transitions at supply plenum and repositioning 8x30 return drop to accommodate larger furnace footprint. Installed new flue venting system through roof utilizing existing intake air penetration, mounted AC condenser on new equipment pad, added condensate pump for drainage, and flushed existing lineset for reuse. Verified system operation with digital diagnostics showing proper temperature differential and completed all necessary electrical connections and refrigerant charging procedures.
Job was sold through another channel and service work was no longer required. Initial dispatch was scheduled to diagnose a two-unit system with reported lack of airflow and cooling on the upstairs unit, where the thermostat indicated cooling mode but no air movement was detected from the 10-year-old system. Service call was ultimately cancelled as new system installation was arranged through alternate means.
