Responded to service call for dripping bathroom faucet on Moen widespread lavatory fixture. Upon inspection, identified failed cartridges in both hot and cold valve assemblies causing persistent drip from spout. Noted significant corrosion and mineral buildup on mounting hardware and valve bodies beneath handles, indicating extended exposure to moisture. Shut off water supply at angle stops and removed existing handles and escutcheons from granite countertop installation. Extracted both worn cartridges from valve bodies and cleaned mounting surfaces of corrosion and sediment. Installed two new Moen replacement cartridges, ensuring proper orientation and seating within valve assemblies. Reassembled handles with existing trim hardware and restored water supply. Tested both hot and cold water operation through multiple cycles to verify proper function and confirm elimination of drip. Fixture now operates smoothly with no leaks detected at spout or handle base connections.
Responded to complaint of weak water pressure throughout the home lasting several months. Performed diagnostic testing using pressure gauge at main water supply line, which revealed substandard pressure readings at the point of entry. Inspected pressure regulating valve (PRV) assembly mounted on wooden backing board near main water line, including brass valve body, PVC connections, and PEX piping transitions.
