South Salt Lake’s median home was built in 1979, which means most furnaces, water heaters, and electrical panels in the city are either at or past the point where replacement makes more sense than another repair. At the same time, major redevelopment along the streetcar corridor and downtown is bringing new construction with modern systems that still need proper maintenance and seasonal care. Whether your home is mid-century or brand new, Utah’s climate and hard water don’t play favorites.
SameDay provides HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services across South Salt Lake and the surrounding valley, all three trades under one roof. We’ve been serving Utah since 1957.
When HVAC or plumbing problems can’t wait, neither do we. We know HVAC, furnace, and plumbing issues don’t adhere to a schedule, which is why we offer emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All three trades are covered under one emergency line, so call now to get the SameDay solutions your home and family need.
In older South Salt Lake homes, electrical panels were sized for a different era. Modern demands from home offices, EV chargers, and updated appliances often exceed original capacity. We modernize electrical systems to current code and handle the full EV charger installation process. We currently offer $500 off EV charger installation (excludes customer-provided equipment).
Utah’s hard water accelerates mineral buildup in pipes and water heaters. In South Salt Lake’s older homes, decades of scale accumulation compounds the problem. Our licensed plumbers handle water softener installation, routine flushing, repiping, and full system replacements.
South Salt Lake summers push into the 90s. A properly maintained cooling system keeps your home comfortable from June through September, and high-efficiency replacements reduce monthly utility bills in older homes where original units are long past their prime.
South Salt Lake winters bring valley inversions that trap cold air for days. When your furnace fails, you need it fixed the same day. Our certified technicians handle everything from routine tune-ups to full system replacements, with most installations completed in a single day.
Whether you’re dealing with furnace failures, burst pipes, sewer backups, power outages, or gas leak concerns, we dispatch 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. All three trades are covered under one emergency line.
We love serving our customers in South Salt Lake. Don't just take our word for it; here is what your neighbors say about our reliable service.
South Salt Lake sits at 4,237 feet in the center of the Salt Lake Valley, bordered by Salt Lake City to the north, Murray to the south, and the Jordan River to the west. Valley inversions trap cold air in winter. Summer heat builds across flat terrain. Hard water is constant.
With a median build year of 1979 and 45% of the housing stock from the 1940s through 1970s, a large share of South Salt Lake homes are running systems well past their expected lifespan. The streetcar corridor and downtown redevelopment zone have added significant new construction since 2010, creating a split market where original 1950s bungalows and modern mixed-use buildings sit blocks apart.
The practical result: the same neighborhood can require emergency furnace replacement in one house and new-construction commissioning in the next. A service team that only knows one era can’t handle that. We’ve been working across every generation of Utah construction since 1957.
Heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical, handled by one company. No juggling contractors. No conflicting schedules. One team that always knows your home’s systems and history.
Founded in 1957, SameDay has served the Wasatch Front through three generations of Salt Lake Valley growth. That’s not a marketing claim, it’s 69 years of showing up, fixing it right, and standing behind the work.
Every technician is certified, licensed, insured, drug-free, and background-checked. That means you know who’s coming into your home, and that they’re qualified.
We service homes throughout South Salt Lake and the surrounding valley, including:
From the established mid-century neighborhoods to the newer mixed-use developments along the streetcar corridor, our crews cover all of South Salt Lake and the surrounding communities.
Below, we answer some of your most frequently asked questions about our home services in the North Salt Lake area.
Yes. We dispatch for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Whether you’re dealing with a furnace failure, burst pipe, or electrical issue, all three trades are covered under one emergency line. Call (801) 726-3329 anytime.
If your furnace is the original unit or a first replacement from the 1990s, it’s likely 25 to 45 years old, well past the 15 to 20 year expected lifespan. Systems that old lose efficiency, cost more per month to operate, and carry higher risk of mid-winter failure. We provide upfront pricing on both repair and replacement so you can make an informed decision.
Yes. Like the rest of the Salt Lake Valley, South Salt Lake’s water supply contains high mineral content that builds sediment inside water heaters and reduces pipe flow over time. Water softener installation and annual flushing are the most effective ways to protect your plumbing and extend equipment life.
Yes. South Salt Lake’s redevelopment wave has brought significant new construction since 2010. We service both newer systems (warranty repairs, maintenance, smart home integration) and older homes (equipment replacement, panel upgrades, repiping).
Yes. We offer financing through Synchrony, with plans including options for qualifying buyers. We also facilitate utility rebates, including $350 from Dominion Energy for qualifying gas water heaters and up to $700 from Rocky Mountain Power for heat pump water heaters.
Whether you need a furnace replacement for an aging system, a water softener to protect your plumbing, or a panel upgrade to support modern electrical demands, SameDay handles all three trades with the same team, the same standards, and the same commitment to getting it done right.

Responded to no-cooling complaint on upstairs air handler system located in walk-in closet. Upon inspection, identified abnormal operational noise from the indoor unit and confirmed warm air discharge to bedroom zones. Diagnosed failed filter dryer and potentially compromised thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) affecting refrigerant flow and system performance. Scheduled return visit to replace filter dryer and TXV as needed to restore proper cooling capacity and eliminate mechanical noise. System photographed showing air handler installation with refrigerant lines and outdoor condensing unit on exterior pad.
Completed Gold Cooling Maintenance on 4-year-old residential air conditioning system. Performed comprehensive system diagnostics including electrical testing of compressor and capacitor components using digital multimeter to verify proper voltage and amperage readings. All equipment operating within manufacturer specifications with no issues reported or identified during inspection.
Performed annual maintenance on tankless water heater system by replacing the whole-house "Big Blue" sediment filter as scheduled. Verified system pressure readings on gauge, confirmed proper operation of tankless unit, and ensured all plumbing connections were secure with no leaks detected.
The technician, David Brimhall, provided exceptional service. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the issue and solution for my water leak situation. He also made sure I understood the mechanics of how the water spigot works, which I really appreciated. As a first time homeowner I like to be educated on these things. He was a very friendly and informative tech and repaired problem quickly. Great service!
Great service and great response time! Working with them is always a great experience.
It was great. The tech came right when he said he was going to. Looked at everything told us exactly what we needed to get fixed or replaced. Gave us quotes on everything.
Terrible communication by tech. Quoted $534 for a basic thermostat ($150 is actual cost) plus the $99 service call fee. Tech didn't fix anything, just charged the $99 to my card and left without any communication except crazy high quote. Thermostat is not fixed, and I will have to go fix the thermostat myself now.
