Responded to recurring slow-draining and gurgling kitchen sink that the homeowner suspected was due to inadequate venting following a kitchen remodel. Investigated the drain venting configuration and discussed potential solutions including auto vent installation, explaining that a loop vent or Studer vent was likely already present within the wall cavity. Recommended chemical treatment using Thrift and Total C products rather than mechanical augering to clear the drain line, and provided enzyme-based preventative maintenance cleaner for ongoing use. During the chemical treatment process, the garbage disposal unit began leaking, which was a new issue that had not previously occurred. Immediately notified the homeowner of the disposal leak and documented the condition of the Wolverine brand disposal unit and associated PVC drain assembly with P-trap configuration.
