DIY Natural Cleaning Products
Cleaning your home is an inevitable chore that needs to be done regularly. Certain cleaners can release harmful chemicals into the air (VOCs), thus lowering your air quality. Rather than using store bought cleaners, opt for these DIY natural cleaning products instead.
Degreaser
When your food splattered appliances need a deep cleaning, you’ll need a heavy duty degreaser. Fill a one gallon container with a half cup of sudsy ammonia (with a detergent ingredient) and fill the rest of the container with water. Grab your sponge, dip it in the solution, and start scrubbing!
Stain Remover
If you have a shirt or table cloth with a bad stain on it, you’ll need a high quality stain remover. Mix a cup of powdered dishwasher detergent and a cup of liquid chlorine bleach into a gallon of water. Place your stained material in the container and let it soak for roughly 20 minutes. Check the stain and keep it in the solution until it’s gone. Finish it off by throwing it into the washing machine on a normal wash cycle.
Glass Cleaner
Put the chemical glass cleaner down and get ready to make your own. Mix together two cups of water, a half cup of white vinegar, a quarter cup of rubbing alcohol, and a drop or two of your choice of essential oils (for a scented cleaner). Pour this solution into a spray bottle so you can breathe easy while you clean your windows and mirrors.
